Dutch Hip-Hop Sensation Kempi
Ever since I was 12, hip-hop stole my heart.
Throughout the years, the music went through many stages, and whilst hip-hop from the us is pretty mainstream to everybody in the world, there’s some artists in Europe and throughout the rest of the world that really should get some attention for whatever reason, be it from swagger to how great their album is.
Today’s focus is on Kempi, he raps mainly in Dutch with some english verbo here and there so if you don’t understand the language chances may be that it won’t appeal to you.
Throughout his short yet rough carreer he went from being the biggest buzz on the internet to being the ambassador of “hosselen” (husslin’ in Dutch) and the street life of The Netherlands.
You can saw whatever you want about the streetlife and how rowdy it may be in The Netherlands, I’m not able to judge it either since I don’t live there, but if there’s one thing this guy deserves the attention he gets is on one side the swagger he has, there’s this whole “Thug Life”-ish attitude and aura going on around him that kind of reminds me of how Tupac was in his prime. And on the other side, the way he drops is pretty original. I’m sure it will aggravate some people, and others will absolutely love it.
His first studio album is now available and is called Nu Zoon and you can find his mixtapes easily online, check http://www.tiskempi.nl for more info.
