I wonder why…

I wonder why
Just being good isn’t enough to work things out

I have castles
I have towers
I have cities

To hide behind
And not
To think about

The life in me

•July 28, 2009 • Leave a Comment

At the beginning…
By the end…
It’s only the photos you get of my life and nothing more…
Scotched to the screen…your books and wall…
All i know best is to disappear…
Then reappear…
On some road, some point…
The air I breathe and clouds I walk…
Still to you an escape shot…

I’m being old we need to talk…

The power of words

•July 5, 2009 • Leave a Comment

When I was in middle school, we had to memorize this little thing below. I ran across it this morning while doing my daily internet browsing and it came out to resume things a lot more then I could do it myself, true story.

If I die tomorrow,
say then to the trees
how much I loved you.
Say it to the wind
that climbs up into the tree
or out of the branches falls,
how much I loved you.

Say it to the child
that is yet young enough to understand.
Say it to the animal,
perhaps just by looking at it.
Say it to the houses of stone,
say it to the city
how dear you were to me.

But don’t tell a single person,
they wouldn’t believe it.
They wouldn’t want to believe that
just a man
just a woman
that a person a person
could love as much as I loved you.

The twists and turns of 2009

•May 22, 2009 • Leave a Comment

It’s been a while since I’ve written down a post on my blog, I know…

But my life has taken another turn I never would’ve expected. It’s an unfortunate and sad one, and I’m coping with it in the best possible ways I can but breaking up a relationship with the woman you planned on marrying is something that comes in hard. Going into detail would just be too painful and ugly, it’s not too many people’s business and especially not the interwebz, all you need to know is that I’m trying to get my life back on track, I’m trying to heal, live and learn from the mistakes I too have made, and I’m living on a day by day basis trying to make the best out of it.

I would’ve never thought 2009 would turn to what it has turned now, it’s for sure the happenings of the past month or so will leave another mark on my persona, but I guess, at the end of the day, that’s life, and there isn’t too much you can do about it…

Thanks to everyone who was around when I crashed to pick me up, put me back in place, listen to me, let me cry on their shoulder and try to let me see the light again, your kind words, efforts and  dedication are genuine and touch me very deeply.

Corporate twittering

As you may have noticed, I’m pretty high on twitter at the moment. I think it’s the new way of keeping in touch with your friends, and once push comes to the iphone os 3.0, I think it’s going to become even more fun as it’ll be even more intuitive.

Now as much as I love my employee for not making a fuzz out of Facebook & Twitter @ work (that means indeed not blocking them). There are companies out there in the wild that either block the social networking sites throughout their proxy’s, or that clearly forbid you to work with one, and if they see it on your screen, they’ll go bonkers.
If the second one is your case, worry no more, SpreadTweet is your must have client for twittering without having your boss noticing it!
As you’ll see, your whole twitter feed will be presented to you as a excel spreadsheet, sure to make your boss not too weary about what you are doing that doesn’t look like an application. The features are still pretty limited when compared to twhirl or tweetdeck, yet, there’s a true potential to this little piece of software!

Right so, as far as I remembered, this whole wordpress wasn’t all too made of win if you didn’t spend hours on figuring it out. Till today I logged in and saw the new dashboard and was like :o zomg!

Anyway, am thinking about making some kind of “stores guide” for when you come to Belgium so international people can come out and visit the places that matter for us sneakerfiends & hypebeasts (or whatever you wanna call it).

Other idea that crossed my mind, it’d be supercool if these stores would get on with twitter in order to inform their people about possible new stocks & all that! Quickest way ever to inform your customer base about updates imo, going to propose it to a few people of the stores since they’re all cool  & that :)

Now for some more internet browsing, and then, off to bed! And fingers crossed for sleeping longer then 6:47 am like last night….!

Supra footwear! Blazing stuff!

•April 4, 2009 • Leave a Comment

As you all know I’ve been unhappy with Nike and what they are bringing out to the shelves for the past year or so. And i’m quite sure I’m not the only one thinking this! As the number of ones age climbs up, tastes might change and alter, and I’ve come to a point where on footwear level, I’m surely discovering that I’m more then just a “Nike”-head, the crazier or fresher the shoe, the more I seem to like it. And as much as 2 or3 years ago I wouldn’t have considered “cheating” on my favorite brand (obviously Nike), I can’t seem to be bothered with sticking to it these days. And that’s how I’ve come to discover the Supra Footwear brand. My first pair was a black with croco leather Skytop, and this month I’ve convinced myself to buying a Tuf Vaider white on white to pass the summer.
All I can say so far is, this brand seriously makes one hell of a comfy shoe that has quite some looks, and overall the quality is decent to good. If you’re into something new, and like to go out there with something that is “out of the common”, be sure to check their website for the more “crazy” releases!
Only downside, the Skytops are so high that if I wear them for a day, my shoes & my feet smell (and yes I wear clean socks every day so don’t even go there in your comments! :) )

Man I been slacking

•April 4, 2009 • Leave a Comment

That’s right, I’ve been slacking hard!

Have bunged into the whole microblogging and social networking thing for a few weeks now and I have to say, it’s really catching on to me.

In combination with that, I’m going to try and get this blog updated a little more as well.

Anyways, if you want to shorter, more grasp of the moment typo things, be sure to check out www.twitter.com/vashe

As for now, here’s a little something I stumbled upon just a few minutes ago. The Chanel concept car design.

Considering how fashion brands have influenced several other businesses in the past, this doesn’t really come as a surprise to me, but imagine yourself having highly fashionable designers getting the opportunity to blow a new breeze into the car industry with some cool and refreshing designs to new cars, would be kinda cool wouldn’t it? :)

More soon!

Loopalot week 41

•October 11, 2008 • Leave a Comment

This week’s loopalot is a track which after some research on it reveals itsself to be pretty old. I’ve discovered it while listening to the latest album of The Alchemist I was able to procure myself.

The album is named The Alchemist – Cutting Room Floor 2 and basically is made of quite some scraps of Alchemist’s wide array of tracks which lay around his studio (or at least that’s my best guess). The full album is quite an interesting listen, especially if you compare it to his 1st Infrantry album which was the first “full” album I ever heard from Alchemist (and really appreciated).

The track that struck me the most off the track is one that was produced by The Alchemist for Bobby Creekwater. The title is Fucking Up My Cool.

Now overall, I wouldn’t define this as a club banger or a track that would struck many audiences on a frist listen. What appealed to me was the general message that the chorus brings.

“(I) keep diamonds to a minimum ’cause it’s fucking up my cool”

In a gendra that has everybody and their grandma running to their local jeweler with the very first paycheck or advance they get to get their necessary bling in order to get along with the bandwagonners and have enough street cred, it struck me to hear an artist who’s struggling to get his album ready hear something like this, a pretty loud, clear and cool statement to my liking!

Am I…

A sucker for Nike?

Well…

I think I might be! Today I ran into this article on the mighty intrawebz about a “Air Jordan Prosthetic”! Yes you heard it right! How to be your very own Tony Stark aka Iron Man and stuff!

Now don’t get it twisted, this is just a render (read it doesn’t exist…yet) but it’s still pretty damn cool for people who are missing a limb if a product like this could allow them to regain the mobility they have lost or have never had. I’m thinking forward on this as to how it could be something protective for people who have injuries or difficulties with their age excersizing the sport they enjoy so much.

The creator’s website of this fancy looking thingy can be found right about here

I confess, I am indeed, a sucker for Nike *grmblz*
